Le Cafe De Paris Boise, Idaho

We started with mixed olives from different countries. The Spanish ones, which were green and had a tender orange pepper in it were my favorites. I love olives!

Filet mignon, morelle mushrooms demiglace, sweet potato mashed potatoes, mixed veggies. Usually, my favorite part of meals at restraunts are the extras, the appetizers, the desserts, the side salads. This time, though, the main course, which actually consisted mostly of meat, was thoroughly enjoyed. The meat was tender and flavorful — the taste reminded me of hot potatoes. The edges were extra good. The mushrooms, rare to find and expensive, were savored. I wish there were more of them. The taters were very yummy. Good mashed potatoes made even better with a little sweet potato.

Lemon meringue torte was presented in a clean and neat way. Our first thought though, without consulting each other, was blood. It kind of tasted like blood. I think the torte should have been room temp., but I'm not French so what do I know. It was accompanied by dots of grainy chocolate sauce, same chocolate, I think that went into my hot cocoa. Interesting combo.

The waitress was consistently nice, which always adds to a better restraunt experience. The other desserts in the glass case looked enticing. We passed up many chocolatey desserts.

Real French, French-speaking patrons were there next to us. Their table was covered in a sea of glasses. The food wasn't bad, in fact it was good, but it portrays itself as being authentic, while It's somewhat faux fancy.

I would return.
